Harif

My name is Harif and I am 19 years old. I am originally from Simpang Rawai, Terengganu, where my family still resides. I have two brothers and one sister. My dad works as a security guard at a school, while my mother is a housewife.

I learned sewing at a community college for six months before working at Tapai in July 2019 to make some money. It was a bit difficult at the beginning to work here because I didn’t have all the skills necessary to make the products. However, it is getting easier with Cikgu Azie’s continuous support and guidance. Now I can make both small and large bags, depending on the order that we receive from clients. Sometimes we also have special orders to make clothes. I love working with batik although I would not wear it myself. I do enjoy working at Tapai since everyone here is really supportive and take the time to listen to me. It is like a family.

I also learned how to fish with my friends, which becomes my hobby. So during weekends, I like going fishing with them. My dream is to open a clothing store here in Terengganu.
